Pre-Audition Clinics (PACs)


We are excited for our third year of hosting Fall marching percussion clinics around the state of Missouri. Formerly known as the Chop Series, the Pre-Audition Clinics (PACs) consist of three separate marching percussion educational clinics around the region. We invite middle school, high school, and college percussion students to attend, at any skill level. The PACs are open to both battery and front ensemble students. Our clinics are designed to give students—whether beginner or advanced—an opportunity to learn from some of the finest music educators in the marching world.

Your attendance at the PACs is not mandatory if you wish to audition at Gateway for the 2017 season. Instead, these clinics are designed to help you prepare for the auditions and learn what to expect.

The tuition fee for each PAC is $35.00. With each online registration you will receive a FREE 2017 Technique Packet, which contains world-class technique information, battery and front ensemble exercises/warmups, and playalong MP3s!

Also, you will receive a FREE exclusive Gateway T-Shirt for every PAC you attend!

Please note: Payment for the Pre-Audition Clinics ($35 per clinic) is separate from the actual 2017 Audition fee (one-time payment of $75 which covers the cost of both camps held on 10/16 and 10/30).

Check-in/registration for the PAC in Blue Springs (October 2) will begin at 9:30 a.m. with the clinic beginning at 10:00 a.m. The clinic will conclude at 5:00 p.m. There will be a break halfway through the day, but lunch will not be provided. 

PAC Dates & Locations:

September 11 – Willard High School, Willard, MO

September 18 – St. Charles West High School, St. Charles, MO

October 2 – Blue Springs High School, Blue Springs, MO

What to Bring:

1) Although instruments will be provided, please bring a drum/stand/carrier if you have access and/or if you can borrow this equipment from your school.

2) The 2017 Technique Packet (this packet is a downloadable PDF you will receive after registering online, or you will receive a physical copy if you register at the door of the event).

3) Sack lunch or money for lunch

4) Drumsticks/mallets and practice pad (if you own one)
