Peter Repp


A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Peter has a diverse background in percussion education, composition, and performance. He has performed in many outstanding marching percussion ensembles, including six seasons (2008-2012, 2014) with Gateway Percussion. He spent two years (2009-2010) as a member of the Colts Drum and Bugle Corps, based out of Dubuque, Iowa, and finished his marching career with the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps, based out of Rosemont, Illinois. The 2011 Cavaliers percussion section was awarded the Fred Sanford High Percussion award. Additionally, Peter has had the opportunity to perform across the country as a member of numerous Jazz and Percussion Ensembles.

Peter received a Bachelor of Music Education degree with Percussion Performance Diploma from Missouri State University (Springfield, MO) in 2015. After graduation, Peter and his wife moved to Houston, TX, where he served as a Director of Percussion Studies in the Alvin Independent School District. In December of 2015, Peter was honored to conduct the Manvel High School (Alvin ISD) Percussion Ensemble as they performed at the annual Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago, IL.

Today, Peter resides back in St. Louis, Missouri where he is the Director of Percussion Studies at Rockwood Summit High School and Rockwood South Middle School. In 2016-2017, Peter will serve as the Battery Coordinator for Gateway Percussion, and continues as an active composer, arranger, consultant, and clinician for many high school programs across the region.
