Jamie Haffner


Jamie Haffner is the Assistant Band Director and Percussion Specialist at Washington High School and Middle School in Washington, Missouri. Jamie instructs the Washington High School drumline, indoor drumline, and percussion ensemble as well as all middle school and high school percussion classes. Prior to her appointment in Washington, Jamie taught at many renowned programs in the Middle Tennessee area including Middle Tennessee State University, Father Ryan High School, Mount Juliet High School, and Stewarts Creek High School. Jamie is also active in DCI as the battery supervisor at Music City Drum and Bugle Corps and as a member of the Percussive Arts Society Marching Percussion Committee. She recently published an article titled "Developing the Marching Bass Drum Section" in the Percussive Arts Society Journal Percussive Notes (Nov. 2014). Additionally, in January 2016, Jamie was invited by the Groove Warehouse to teach the Young Music Society Summer School in Canberra, Australia.

As a performer, Jamie marched with the Crossmen (San Antonio, TX), Colts (Dubuque, IA), and Gateway Indoor (St. Louis, MO). Additional performance groups include the Kansas City Chiefs Rumble Drumline, the Saint Joseph Symphony (Saint Joseph, MO), and with Carinne Carpenter in the acoustic duo, "Scrap Cat."

Jamie completed her M.M. in Percussion Performance as a graduate teaching assistant at Middle Tennessee State University. Jamie received her B.M.E. degree from Missouri Western State University.
